The Multani Caravansaray is located in the Old City of Baku - Icherisheher. It was built in the 14th century for Indian merchants, fire worshippers, who came from the city of Multan in India, present territory of Pakistan.
Buxara Karavansaray, Baku, Azerbaijan
The Caravansaray was built at the end of the 15th century on the trade route of the Old City. Only shell limestone quarried on the Absheron Peninsula was used as building material.

Limestone from Zogelsdorf, 240 cm tall, 1350 kg. 24 years after the last restoration, the decision was made for security reasons, to create a copy of the lion in shaken cast of artificial stone reinforced by fiberglass.
